I started in 1993

My Story

Welcome ,

My first contact with telephones was at a fairly young age when I was curious about the black Bakelite telephone (Siemens W48) that was in the living room of our house. It always gave me a special shiver when I heard it ring. I waited with great anxiety to hear my grandfather on the other end of the line or even better my aunt from Australia…

I started collecting in 1990 with the beginning of my studies in electronic circuits and devices as works of art. In 1993 I started working for a telephone company and thus the germ of my interest was born, with the history and systematic collection of telephone devices.

My first device was a Siemens W-28 telephone.

In 1997, analog telephone exchanges were replaced by digital ones. In my collection there is a component from HDW Exchange.

In 1999, I acquired my first magnetic telephone.

In 2000, the first insulators appeared in my collection.

In 2004, I collected commemorative telephones and pins related to the Olympic Games held in Athens. One of my display cases is adorned with this collection.

In 2009, I became a member of the Antique Telephone Collectors Association (ATCA).

In 2010 I acquired my first telephone line tester, as a precious gift from an elderly businessman from Kefalonia.

In 2013, it is the anniversary of 20 years of collecting.

In 2014, together with a group of friends, we decide to create a website.

In 2019 I became a member of the National Insulator Association (NIA).

In 2021 I became a member of Telephone Collectors International (TCI).

In 2022 the website is a reality and its name is: www.vintagephones.gr
