T.T.T.

In 1892, a law on telephone transport was passed by the government of Charilaos Trikoupis. Two years later, the telephone service of the Greek state is included in the General Directorate of T.T. and the T.T.T. of the Ministry of Interior. In the year 1914, the Ministry of Communications was established and the T.T.T. In 1922, the Ministry of T.T.T. which was abolished in 1923 and the T.T.T. transferred again to the Ministry of Communications. In 1925 in the Directorate of T.T.T. A radio department is set up to organize communications with the islands. In 1926 a contract was signed with New Antwerp Telephone & Electrical Works, a telephone and electrical works company of Antwerp, and provides for the establishment of the Hellenic Telephone Company SA. In 1930 Siemens & Halske acquired N.AT. & Ε.W. and what 1931 the A.E.T.E. is founded. The A.E.T.E. took over the automatic telephony, while the English Eastern Telegraph was given the wireless and wired telegraphy. Manual long-distance and international telephony, small urban centers and domestic telegrams remained in the TTT Directorate. For the period of operation of T.T.T. white porcelain insulators were used to support the telephone wires. There are various sizes and designs of insulators under the name of T.T.T. imprinted on them. There are also insulators engraved with the name T.T.T.
