INSULATORS

OSE

On January 1, 1971, OSE (Hellenic Railways Organization) founded all the older railway networks and absorbing the previous company founded by Eleftherios Venizelos, the SEC. It continues to maintain the telegraph network for as long as it remains because the evolution of technology in the field of communications is leaps and bounds. During the management of the railway network by OSE, the insulators that continued to be used in the telegraph network were made of white porcelain. The difference now from previous years is that on them were written the initials of the new company with different graphic characters and colors depending on the country of manufacture. Sometimes the logo was written in Greek characters and other times in Latin characters. The Lenin insulator factory was located in Nikolaevo, Bulgaria, starting production during the communist era in 1953. The factory still exists today as Elpo Ad (Елпо АД) and still manufactures a full range of insulators. The code according to the National Insulators Association (NIA) is U-1268. The dimensions of the insulator are 78mm x 106mm. On the front side there is a stamp with the initials of the Greek Railway Organization O.C.E and the year of production 1970 along with the factory logo.
