SEK

In March 1920, the then Prime Minister of Greece Eleftherios Venizelos founded a company called “Greek State Railways” (SEK), with the aim of unifying the railway companies throughout the country, which will absorb the line Piraeus-Athens-Thessaloniki and Ottoman networks in Macedonia and Thrace. In 1954 the SPAP were nationalized and in 1962 they were permanently lost after their union with the Railways of the Greek State (SEK). During the management of the railway network by the SEK, the insulators used in the telegraph network were made of white porcelain. On them were written the initials of the company in various graphic characters and colors depending on the country of manufacture. Sometimes the logo was written in Greek characters and other times in Latin characters.
