Blow torch

Blow Torch, Swedish-made in 1958 by the Swedish company Max Sievert. The Max Sievert company was a pioneer in the blowtorch industry and operated from 1882 to 1970, supplying the market with excellent quality industrial products. This particular model is called the Max Sievert Brass Blow Torch type 223. The last piece of this type from this company was released in 1963. Today they are considered collectibles. It has the company name and country of origin engraved on its surface. It is 20 centimeters high and weighs 1,200 grams without liquid inside. A small vertical blowtorch designed for laboratory use. It was the evolution of the model 217 which was manufactured from 1913 to 1937.  The burner has an additional solid supporting stem. the safety pin can be seen sticking out. If the pressure in the unit became too much the solder around the pin would give way and release the air. The liquid used was gasoline. It was used by telephone repair crews to glue the lead around the connector-muff. They were later replaced by stoves with butane gas cylinders.
