DBH-1001

Model DBH 1001 is a hub for the manufacturer. It is the first LM Ericsson phone model made entirely by Bakelite. So in 1931 it leaves behind the metal that was the main material for the construction of telephone devices and passes to the Bakelite era. It was actually a Swedish-Norwegian collaboration, as it was developed and designed in Oslo by Elektrisk Bureau A / S. But LM Ericsson had bought the company in 1928 and asked AB Alpha in Sundbyberg, Sweden, another subsidiary, to manufacture and distribute the Bakelite phone. The management chose Bakelite as the construction material and the skilled designer was Johan Christian Bjerknes together with the artist Jean Heiberg. For phone makers, the transition from metal to Bakelite was a complete revolution. The time now required to build the housing was reduced from one week to about seven minutes. In Greece there was a limited number, mainly in Hotel facilities.
