Here we see a 1920 DE wall-mounted telephone from the Société Francaise des Téléphones Ericsson (STE) company made of black steel. The handle is made of steel except for the middle part which is made of Bakelite. The cable connecting the handset to the telephone is made of fabric. The company’s name is engraved on the top of the handset. In the center of the device there is a metal plate engraved with the company’s name and the area where the factory was located in the Paris suburb of Colombes. The selection disc is metallic in the color of the metal. We notice that there are no numbers between the holes of the fingerwheel. The numbered plate is metallic in a black shade and the numbers in a white shade. The company name is engraved on the top of the dial. Also on the top of the device is a bronze plate engraved with the phone’s production number, 75299. The interior of the device is quite simple since there is no ringing mechanism, only the voice coil and the board to which the cables of the handset, the telephone line, the external ringing system and the dialing disc are connected.
