OPEN-FACE HELMET

Greek made

Here we see a Greek-made helmet used by OTE telegraphists and aerial telephone technicians during the 1970s; it stands as one of the most significant pieces of Greek industrial history. It was an open-face (Jet-style) helmet, manufactured from thermoplastic to ensure a lightweight design. It featured a large leather collar that covered the neck and ears, offering protection against the cold and rain, while the interior contained foam material to absorb shocks or provide protection in the event of a fall. The O.T.E. logo appeared on the front.
