Here we see a white porcelain insulator made in Germany. The code according to the National Insulators Association (NIA) is U-1284. The dimensions of the insulator are 84mm x 125mm. Rosenthal GmbH is a German manufacturer of porcelain and other household goods. The original company was founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria as a family business. Philipp Rosenthal started his business in Germany in 1884 in Asch, Bohemia. In 1921 they collaborated with the Allgem Elektrizit Gesellschaft (AEG) in the field of technically used porcelain. In 1936 they were fully merged with AEG Berlin to form (RIG) Rosenthal Isolatoren GmbH. Since 2009, Rosenthal is owned by the Italian company Sambonet Paderno Industrie (Arcturus Group).
