OTE

Miklos Zsolnay founded the first factory in 1853 in Pecs, Hungary. The company logo came from the five towers of the city of Pecs named in the Middle Ages. In 1881 Zsolnay received a contract from the Hungarian Postal Service to produce porcelain insulators for telegraph equipment. In 1902 Zsolnay acquired shares in Drasche Co., another porcelain manufacturer in Hungary. Until 1914 Zsolnay was the largest company in Austria-Hungary. After World War II the company was nationalized and renamed Pecsi Porcelangyar (Pecs Porcelain Factory) making common tableware. In 1982 with the restart of the economy, the company regained its operational independence, reorganized and the name Zsolnay returned. In 1991, Zsolnay Porcelain Manufacture became a joint stock company. Here we see a white porcelain junction insulator made by the Hungarian company with construction date 1964. Apart from the logo of the construction company, we can also see the initials of OTE. The code according to the National Insulators Association (NIA) is U-1897. The insulator has dimensions of 95mm x 118mm.
