The Radom Telephone Factory was founded by the Swedish Ericsson in December 1938 on the basis of the telephone and railway signal factory Telstyg S.A. The factory manufactured telephones and listening devices, junction boxes, railway signaling devices, control and measuring devices and batteries. It began producing telephones again in 1945, while remaining under temporary state management. In January 1972, it was renamed Radomska Wytwórnia Telefonów “Telkom RWT”. In 1975, under the license of Face Standard, it became the largest telephone manufacturer in the socialist countries. At that time the company employed approximately 2,500 people. The telephone sets were exported to, among others, countries such as Syria, Thailand, Morocco, France and Greece. The clouds of the end of an era began to appear on the company with the financial changes after 1989. The main customer that was Telekomunikacja Polska was acquired by France Telecom and left its main supplier, RWT. The end credits came on November 19, 2022 with the demolition of her factory.
