H70

Siemens in 1970 introduced the device named H70 (ie Modell 70) with code A30054-X5239-A10 * -11. It was the replacement for the H63 telephone. In appearance this device is identical to its H63 predecessor. The only external differences are the different design base and in the selection tray the cover is no longer transparent but in the shade of the device and the finger stopper is plastic in ivory shade and not nickel. It was available in five colors: red, blue, gray, ivory and green. Internally it has nothing to do with H63. It is the first Siemens semi-analog device. The electronic components are now mounted on a printed circuit board which is fastened with screws to the plastic base of the phone. The first versions had a plastic braid in the shade in which the device was painted. They were soon replaced by spiral cables in the color of the device. In Greece, the device was made available to telephone subscribers by OTE in the mid-1970s in all colors. We will find plenty in blue, gray, red and green shades. In ivory coloring is rare. It was in operation until the mid-1990s, mainly in Public Services.
