T-65s

Tesla in 1965 introduced the device called T65s. It was the replacement for the T58 telephone. Another company that leaves behind the Bakelite that until the late 1950s dominated as the main material for the manufacture of telephone devices. The rotary dial is also made of plastic, while the finger wheel is made of clear plastic. It was available in eight colors: red, blue, gray, ivory, rose, brown, yellow black and green. Internally it has nothing to do with the predecessor of the T58. It is Tesla’s first semi-analog device. The electronic components are now mounted on a printed circuit board which is fastened with screws to the plastic base of the phone. The cords of the handle and the connection to the telephone line are spiral in three shades of white, gray and black. In Greece, the device has been available to telephone subscribers by OTE since the early 1970s in all colors. We will find plenty in blue, gray, red and green shades. Other colors are rare.
